Single Origin: Sumatra Gayo

Our latest lot from the Gayo Highlands is a true Sumatran gem. Wet-hulled Sumatras are known globally for their rich body, low acidity and earthy flavors. Predominately practiced in Indonesia, the wet-hulled process begins by pulping off skin from a fresh picked cherry. Cherries are either dried immediately or sits in a bucket overnight, then washed and dried again. Next, beans are run through a wet-hull machine where friction removes most of the parchment. Lastly, it is dried, sorted, graded and sent for export where it comes to us for roasting. Try the Sumatra Gayo by ordering online or tasting in cafe now!

Tasting Notes: Coffee with a plush mouthfeel and heavy sweetness. Flavors of dark chocolate, dried fruits and sweet pipe tobacco are present throughout.
